Stan GoffA Marine corporal has apologized — after he was busted by the Council on American-Islamic Relations — for making a video of his musical performance, before his company of Marines, who are cheering wildly when the lyrics refer to killing Iraqi children… especially the lyrics "I grabbed her little sister and put her in front of me. As the bullets began to fly, the blood sprayed from between her eyes, and then I laughed maniacally. . .I blew those little fuckers to eternity . . .They should have known they were fucking with the Marines." Of course, the Marine Corps made an official statement that they did not condone this kind of language and behavior, which is a great big goddamn lie. They don’t condone publicity about it. They followed orders like good Germans when they massacred Fallujah; the term "hadji" is as universally used as "gook" was in Vietnam; and when you see and hear the video, it is apparent that everyone is showing loud, vocal approval of it. John Pilger... As in Palestine, the war in Iraq is against civilians, mostly children. According to Unicef, Iraq once had one of the highest indicators for the well- being of children. Today, a quarter of children between the ages of six months and five years suffer acute or chronic malnutrition, worse than during the years of sanctions. Poverty and disease have risen with each day of the occupation. In April, in British-occupied Basra, the European aid agency Saving Children from War reported: "The mortality of young children had increased by 30 per cent compared with the Saddam Hussein era." They die because the hospitals have no ventilators and the water supply, which the British were meant to have fixed, is more polluted than ever. Children fall victim to unexploded US and British cluster bombs. They play in areas contaminated by depleted uranium; by contrast, British army survey teams venture there only in full-body radiation suits, face masks and gloves. Unlike the children they came to "liberate", British troops are given what the Ministry of Defence calls "full biological testing"...

William BowlesLast night (13/6/06) the Channel 4 News report on the invasion by an assault force of more than 250 state employees on the homes of two innocent citizens of this (formerly) green and pleasant land, Mohammed Abdul Kahar and his brother Abdul Koyair, opened with a list of all things reported by the media that were, to put it mildly, inventions, including, but not limited to, how the shooting took place; what exactly happened when a bunch of armed thugs broke down the door and masked and unidentified men, one of whom shot Kahar at close range, pushed his brother down the stairs and then beat him up. It also mentioned fictitious 'terrorist’ links the two brothers had, non-existent criminal records and so on and so forth. The report mentioned in passing that it wasn’t clear where all the dis/misinformation came from but never expanded on the observation...

Death on the beach in Gaza
Eli Stephens, Left I on the NewsIsrael and its apologists are mounting a major campaign to blame a Hamas "land mine" for the deaths of seven members of a Palestinian family, including five children, last Friday on a beach in Gaza. They claim that Hamas was laying land mines to prevent Israeli incursions. Curiously, no other land mines have been found on the beach. Are we to believe that Hamas figured that one landmine on a large beach would be enough to stop the Israelis? That's indirect evidence that the Israeli story is hogwash. But there's lots of direct evidence.
