IRAQ: ITALIAN TV ALLEGES U.S. USED CHEMICAL WEAPONS IN FALLUJAH

Rome, 7 Nov. (AKI) - A documentary to be aired on Tuesday by Italian state satellite TV channel RAI News 24 alleges that US troops used chemical weapons during their assault on the insurgent stronghold of Fallujah in November last year. The documentary - 'Fallujah - the hidden massacre' - uses witness accounts from former US soldiers, Fallujah residents, video footage and photographs, to support its claim that contrary to US State Department denials, white phosphorous was used indiscriminately on the city, causing terrible injuries to civilians, including women and children.

"I heard the order being issued to be careful because white phosphorous was being used on Fallujah. In military slang this is known as Willy Pete. Phosphorous burns bodies, melting the flesh right down to the bone," says one former US solider, interviewed by the documentary's director, Sigfrido Ranucci.

"I saw the burned bodies of women and children. The phosophorous explodes and forms a plume. Who ever is within a 150 metre radius has no hope," the former soldier adds.

"A rain of fire came down on the city, and people targeted by the different coloured substances began to burn. We found people dead, with strange injuries, with their clothes intact," a biologist from Fallujah, Mohamad Tareq al-Deraji tells Ranucci.

The evidence in 'Fallujah - the hidden massacre' claims to show the US forces did not use phosphorous in the legitimate way - to highlight enemy positions - but dropped the substance indiscriminately on the city, and on a massive scale. The documentary also shows the terrible damage wrought by the US bombardment of Fallujah, and the carnage to civilians, some of whom lay sleeping.

Equally disturbingly, a document in the report claims to prove that the U.S. forces have used the MK77 form of Napalm - the chemical used with devastating effect on civilians during the Vietnam war - on civilians in Iraq.

"I had gathered testimonials on the use of phosphorous and Napalm in Iraq from several refugees from Fallujah, and wanted to tell the world about it, but my kidnappers would not allow me to," said Italian journalist Giuliana Sgrena, held hostage in Iraq earlier this year, during the documentary.

The use of white phosophorous and Napalm is prohibited by UN conventions. Moroever, the United States signed up to the Chemical Weapons Convention in 1997

Believe it or not, I actually feel fortunate to have seen pictures of this attro city (though not as many really awful ones) before because someone seeing them f or the first time is likely to be so shocked as to not be able to make a respons e.

I don't have that problem. I am prepared to make the assumption that the Americ an military is going to come forward with all kinds of excuses to deny responsib ility, mainly by claiming that the incineration of civilians was not "intended" and that, besides, there's no way to prove that the dead weren't actually "insur gents." What it is all going to boil down to is that the population was given notice to vacate the city because it was slated to be bombarded on a given day and, if the population CHOSE not to follow the instruction they were given, what happened to them is their own fault.

Whether or not it is permissible under international rules of law to demand the evacuation of a city so it can be searched and destroyed, people must be reassur ed that this is indeed a war crime--one that continues to be perpetrated on a da ily basis on the villages of Iraq.

That one of the prime objections to the tyranny of Saddam Hussein was based on t he policy of removing populations from one place to another (the designation "et hnic cleansing" suggests that such behavior is permitted if it isn't directed at people on the basis of race or ethnic affiliation) is actually beside the point . As is the fact that the wholesale removal of populations during the communist era in the Soviet Union was one of the major complaints against that form of government. Nor does the historical precedent of the "removal" of Native Americans to "reservations" make the practice acceptable. If the world's people are ever going to enjoy freedom, then the practice of forced relocation must be stopped.

Not to be cold-hearted, but the dead in Fallujah are beyond suffering. The suff ering that is still going on is what must be stopped. And it won't be stopped j ust by bringing a few people to trial. People everywhere must come to recognize the evil and bring it to a halt.

And these BARBARIANS claimed that they were going into Iraq to free the Iraqis o f President Saddam Hussein. May generations of the perpetrators of these CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY never know peace in their lives. These pictures only confirm t hat the occupiers of Iraq have no moral high ground to preach to anyone in the w orld.

Having seen these picture's there is no doubt in my mind that George Bush and hi s lackey Tony Blair should be tried for war crimes.
Considering that America is ( supposedly )the champion of "democracy"
They spend a great deal of money developing weapons of horrendous killing power to "convince" those who would stand against their "democratic idea's " of how th e world should be. When will people realise that the biggest threat to world pea ce and a nuclear free environment is George Bush and Tony Blair.
It's funny that those who want to start war's are the one's who lack any kind of intestinal fortitude ( coward's ).

is anyone really surprised, I mean if you're on this site you must visit similar sites, and the use of white phosphorous and napalm type material was common kno wledge during the Falluja massacre, ok the pictures are horrible but not surpris ing. What is surprising is the fact anyone is still surprised. By the way the US denial of using Napalm is just a play on words. The chemical symbol for Sodium is Na, the material used to thicken the gasolene used to be sodium palmitrate, ie Na palm. Polystyrene can be used to thicken the gas and it sticks and burns like hell but it's not Napalm.

I have long known in my heart that there is nothing fair when you declare war’ a ll becomes fair’ man is but a brutal killing machine capable of mass terror. But here we see the true war and the terror not ‘just or moral “just an assault on another peoples freedoms. Genocide’ a façade of lie's the destruction of a peopl e ‘a culture outside the conventions and life we call “democracy”?

Terror in it’s unadulterated form “the hypocrisy of the war on terror revisited to those innocent suffering Iraqi’s who suffered years of indignation and tortur e under a leader who did not fail to abuse’ to the UN Security Council who held their children in hunger and poverty while they prepared depleted uranium to dr op in their gardens around Basra’ to the 1.4 million dead of attrition and lack of life saving medicine , to the baby’s who are not yet born who will undoubtedly suffer deformities on a molecular level from the effect of radiation , tell me again who are the terrorist ? That drugs and cancer treatment equipment were denied and forbidden to enter Iraqi air space.

Did there children miss the anger of September the 11th now you to can live the horror! Except we will not drive our planes loaded with people into your city ex cept laden with weapons of mass destruction under the shield of Wilbraham tanks. I will never enter a democratic discussion again I will not use my vote’ I will not pay my taxes ‘I will never believe in “democracy or freedom” it is a word just a bullshit word that is as much a myth as the understanding that terrorist’s are waiting to attack me”

Tony Blair has cast his lot in on Iraq to fight a war by proxy on behalf of the Zionist in Britain and abroad the dye has been cast’ American homogeny has stret ched across the world in a bid to consume the planet at the cost of millions of lives’ Arab lives and people of color I will not forget that our fathers were on ce members of the resistance of Nazis occupation I will not forget that Iraqi people have the right of self defense who have a god given right to resist occupation,

I will not forget the way the British police broke down my door in the early hou rs of the morning to the sound of feet braking the house up broken doors crackin g and my children hurled from their beds to masked men in black uniforms with re volvers and batons at the ready nor will I forget the brutal way I was kicked an d punched in the hallway beaten and my face pushed into the floor a father of four children being kicked and abused in his own home.

My six year old daughter asked me as we where pushed into the police van are we in Iraq? But what is the difference she was right so my mind must assume that th is is an Ideological war you see I am English I am white I am British revert Mus lim I have never harmed anyone except to oppose my government in the Illegal war . Today I am about to face new terror laws that has been placed to silence opposition especially from the Muslim sector of society who by sympathy and empathy must challenge the roll of politics’ that will kill innocent lives as what you have witnessed in these pictures. How can one be called a terrorist and the evidence speaks so clearly against our governments in the tacit approval of genocide against a people for there beliefs?

This reflects the real Democracy (democracy of choosing the method of killing in nocents in their home land) and by whom!? by their invader
This is a proof that the leader of the axis of evil is the USA and its
allies.
THis article proof that free press is still free , and unforunately
The so called Iraqis,Arabs(I am one of them),Muslims are so helpless and
sleeping in a coma even in prevailing/exposing the tremendous harm done to them
Though I am very proud of your courage , I am very sad aboyt us

Interesting, but and there is always a "but". NONE of the pictures posted show any evidence of "Napalm" or "White Phosphorous" injuries at all. I'm quite fami lure with both being a Viet Nam Vet when both were used extensivly. The bodies shown are in advanced stages of decomposition though (note the 'bloating of the bodies) which is where the "black" color comes from and not burning. The exposed bones in picture #4 looks more like animal feeding rather than initial injury.

WP or Napalm creates a "Crispy" texture on exposed skin which NONE of the bodies show. Take a "Hot Dog" or "Sausage" and burn it over an open flame until it's "black" and splits open. Now that's an example of WP and Napalm injuries.

I'm sure most of you have never seen bodies on a battlefield and are quite horri fied by them. War isn't nice and that's the reality of it, there's no glory, no honor, just death and destruction with the "winner" being the last man left ali ve. That's why War should allways be the ONLY option left.

I SEE NO PROBLEM HERE! EXCEPT AN OVER ZEALOUS MEDIA WITH A LIBERAL POLITICAL AG ENDA. THE AMERICAN, ENGLISH, AUSTRALIAN BOYS ARE DOING A PHENOMINAL JOB SECURIN G THE WHOLE OF THE HOLY LAND FOR CHRISTIANDOM. WAR IS NOT A PRETTY THING AND HA RDSHIPS MUST BE ENDURED. THESE ROGUE NATIONS MUST BE BROUGHT UNDER EUROPEAN AND AMERICAN COLONIZATION FOR GOOD REASON. THEY HAVE GIVEN AMPLE TIME TO REFORM AND MAKE PEACE WITH ISRAEL AND EUROPEAN CHRISTIANDOM AND HAVE REFUSED. THE SITE CONTENT AND THE COMMENTS POSTED HERE REFLECT AN ANTI-CHRISTIAN SLANT AND BORDER ON GIVEING AID AND COMFORT TO THE ENEMY. DO NOT BELIEV FOR A MOMENT YOU WOULD HAVE THE FREEDOM TO EXPRESS YOUR VIEWS OR PRINT YOUR VERSION OF THE TRUTH IF ISLAMIC NATIONS WERE CONTROLING THE WORLD. I CANNOT ARGUE WITH THE VIEW OF GEORGE W BUSH BEING A TYRANT BUT THIS WAR IS NOT BEING EXUCUTED BY GWB ALONE...IT IS A CHRISTIAN/MUSLIM WAR!

I hope you people out there dont hate Americans or somehow think that Americans are behind the things that the so called United States ( actually dosnt represe nt the American people anymore) military has done in the war. Lots of Americans felt that the military should never gone into Iraq or Afghanistan and never tho ught Iraq or even Afghanistan really had anything to do with the World trade center attack. Lots of us were against the war from the begining. There have been massive protest throughout the U.S. and Not all of us support the way the Israelis have treated teh Palestinians either, whatever the news media may tell you. But you have to understand the average American citizen is powerless we are just working people without money or influence. The super rich bankers and busneiss people and the Israeli Lobby are unfortunately very powerfull in the U.S. and a lot of us aren't very happy about that. It's hard for teh average citizen who has very little money and no influence to get oiur veiws heard. But we are out there. I just ask that you don't blame the American citizens for what those in power do. Many of us are upset and disgusted with teh politicians and we want good relations with the nations of the world including the Middle East.
